EXPAND R5090 Automatic harvesting tarpaulin for arboriculture

The automatic roll-out tarpaulin for faster harvesting while protecting orchards

Designed for orchard-growing, the EXPAND R5090 is a self-propelled automatic harvesting machine. Thanks to its synchronised tarpaulin system, it can harvest up to 300 kg of fruit in a matter of seconds, ensuring careful, fast collection that respects both trees and fruit. Perfect for intensive or traditional orchards, it is suitable for cherries, plums, walnuts, almonds, pistachios and more.

Sustained productivity

  • Up to 300 kg of fruit harvested in a single pass, without damaging the trees
  • Average speed: one tree harvested every 30 to 45 seconds
  • Cycles adapted to the type of fruit: cherry trees (45 seconds), olive trees (60 seconds), dried fruit (30 seconds)

Respect for orchards and harvests

  • Gentle harvesting, without shaking or pinching: automatic tarpaulin tensioning and central valve to protect the bark
  • Conveyor designed to preserve fragile fruits
  • Integrated powerful blower: effective removal of leaves and debris

Maneuverability and adaptability in orchards

  • Articulated drawbar and steering wheels for easy manoeuvring in tight headlands
  • Adjustable cover width from 5.0 to 8.80 m depending on the orchard configuration
  • Adjustable trailer height – Suitable for plantations with ≥ 5 m between rows

Easy and intuitive control in the cab

  • Centralised electric controls on joystick in cab
  • Remote-controlled tarpaulin unwinding robot with automatic tension adjustment
  • Alignment camera, obstacle detector, LED lighting for day/night work

Clean harvesting and integrated sorting

  • Flow-controlled conveyor to transport fruit to the pallet boxes smoothly
  • Powerful blower to remove impurities and optimise harvest quality
  • Controllable conveyor belts at the rear to manage the final flow

Automatic tarpaulin for fruit and nut harvesting EXPAND R5090

Harvest tarpaulin

Adapt EXPAND to your orchards: tarpaulin width from 5.0 to 8.80 m and a choice of 6 or 11 battens to optimise fruit support and flow. Two types of tarpaulin are available depending on use (fragile fruit or olives/dried fruit). Right or left trailer depending on the layout of your rows, for uninterrupted flow and maximum efficiency.

Choose the right platform: standard double bin or double bin with hydraulic tilt correction and conveyor (ideal for bins containing liquids). Automatic levelling ensures safe filling, stabilises the load on slopes and simplifies logistics. Controls within easy reach to manage the filling and emptying of the bins without interrupting the workflow.

EXPAND automatic tarpaulin FAQ

The EXPAND R5090 is suitable for cherries (fruit intended for industry), almonds, walnuts, pistachios, plums and other dried fruits. The indicative cycles are approximately 45 seconds for fragile fruits (cherry trees) and 30 seconds for dried fruits, depending on the variety, ripeness and pruning method.

Choose the width based on the distance between the trees (>=3m): tarpaulins from 5.0 to 8.80 m. Opt for 11 battens to best guide the harvest, especially for fragile fruits.

A typical project is carried out by 3 people. Allow for a cycle of approximately 45 seconds on cherry trees and 30 seconds on dried fruit trees, with a capacity of up to 300 kg of fruit collected in a few seconds on heavy loads, depending on the organisation and conditions of the orchard.

Minimum power 29 kW (40 hp), 540 rpm PTO and 12 V power supply. Minimum distance between rows 5.0 m, between trees 3.0 m. The EXPAND works on slopes of up to 15% and cross side-slopes of up to 10%. The articulated drawbar and steering wheels offer a turning radius of 7 m for manoeuvring at headlands.

There are two options: standard double platform or double platform with hydraulic slope correction and conveyor (recommended on slopes and for bins containing liquid). They ensure safe filling, improve stability and prevent interruptions to the harvesting process.

Check the condition of the tarpaulin, battens and winding mechanisms daily, and clean the conveyors, elevator, fan and suction ducts. At the end of the season: wash thoroughly, check the bearings, store the tarpaulin in a dry place, and inspect the hydraulic/electrical systems according to the instructions.
